Canyon View Cemetery Tour - Oct 8

  • Summerland Museum and Archives 9521 Wharton Street Summerland, BC, V0H 1Z0 Canada (map)

The spooky season is upon us! This October, join us every Saturday for a guided tour of one of our local cemeteries.

October 8th: Canyon View Cemetery Tour

"Paradise Flats" doesn't sound like a bad place to spend eternity! Join us to learn about Summerland's youngest cemetery and the remarkable folks who are laid to rest there. On our walk amongst the grave markers, we will delve into the lives of the people buried here and also learn about some fascinating (and sometimes creepy) local trivia!

Address: 10316 Canyon View Road, Summerland (on the way to the Summerland Golf and Country Club)

$10 per person for SMAS members/ $15 per person for non-members

Register online: https://summerlandmuseumandarchives.square.site/

Or register in-person at the Summerland Museum:
10am - 4pm, Wednesday to Sunday
9521 Wharton Street, Summerland

Please arrive a few minutes early so that the tour can begin on time. We recommend wearing comfortable, waterproof shoes (the grass may be wet) and dressing in layers appropriate for the chilly October weather.

Accessibility: The Canyon View Cemetery is relatively flat. There is a paved driving lane bisecting the cemetery with small cement ramps leading onto the grass (please note, there is a 2" lip between the lane and the ramp). Most of the tour will take place on the soft grass between graves. Unfortunately, we do not recommend the tour for people with wheelchairs or walkers. No restrooms on site.

Also, be sure to see our Peach Orchard Cemetery Tours on October 1st, 15th, and 29th!!
