Faux Fire Contest

  • Summerland Canada (map)

Have you ever wanted to have your art, or something you have created on display? Now is your chance! The Summerland Museum is looking for you to get crafty, get creative, and get involved, with your chance to help add your finishing touches to our new Scouting in Summerland exhibit! The winning Faux Fire will be featured within our new exhibit, Scouting in Summerland, and the winner will receive a great prize from Yaki’s Pizza!

From now until October 19th, The Summerland Museum is putting out a challenge to you, to make your best fake campfire. You’re encouraged to use your creativity, and make a “fire”, (without any real flames), to be included as part of our Scouting in Summerland exhibit in the Tait Room at the Summerland Museum.

How big should your Faux Fire creation be? We are limiting the available space to 30” by 30”, with a maximum height of 36”. Note that your fire doesn’t HAVE to be this big, but must fit within this available space.

Check out the picture on the event page for an idea of the space you have to work with. Note that there is access to a power outlet as well.

Are your creative juices flowing yet?!

To enter: Contestants will submit photos or video of their Faux Fire to this event page by October 19. Make sure to give your fire a name! The chance to vote on your favourite fire will happen the following week.

The contest winner will have their Faux Fire on display in our Tait Room alongside our Scouting in Summerland Exhibit, and receive a certificate for 2 Large Pizzas from Yakis Pizza!
