Join us at the Summerland Museum for a one-hour lecture with local historian David Gregory on the historic Okanagan Fur Brigade Trail.
Fur traders began traversing the "Brigade Trail" in the early 1800s. They were led by Indigenous guides along a trail system that had been utilized by the Syilx people for thousands of years prior to the traders' arrival. Learn about the long history of this significant route, the people that traveled it, and the trail's continuing legacy in the Okanagan.
Attendance of the lecture is by donation, as a fundraiser for the Okanagan Historical Society and the Summerland Museum and Archives.
